Good summary of the gun grabbers arguments, and history.Mr. Eakin traces the efforts to disarm Americans back to the 1960. The arguments include everything from the government including the military and the police forces are the only ones who should have and need arms as they protect the people from everything bad, to chipping away at things like the size of magazines that can be used with a weapon, and the type of weapon that citizens can have.
One gun in particular that the gun grabbers want to get rid of is the AR-15, a semiautomatic and civilian variant of the military M16 rifle.
Every excuse in the world is used to reduce the ability of civilians to have guns.

You will learn more about the importance of the Second Amendment and develop a deeper understanding of its essential role in assuring our freedoms. This is a well-researched and very readable presentation from one individual who is committed to protecting our constitutional rights.
Expected a book-length book. This is a long short story. Nonetheless it makes interesting arguments and links appropriately to relevant court cases. It's quite high level, but provides solid retorts for elevator conversations with control advocates.
To the point.
One correction The civilian version of the Beretta M9 is the Beretta 92, caliber 9mm. The Beretta 96 is caliber 40 S&W.
Gun, a hot topic at the moment. There were a few items that I didn't know of so reading them gave me more info to justify my views.
Mr Eakin is a true advocate for safe gun ownership and keeping our rights intact.
This is an excellent overview of America's Rifle, the Second Amendment, and how efforts to restrict ownership conflict with the Second Amendment. Well written and thoroughly footnoted, it's obvious the author knows his material.
It demystifies the "Scary Black Rifle" by demonstrating how it's in common use today for recreational and self-defense purposes. It also clearly illustrates the difference between the semi-automatic civilian AR15 and the military variants which are capable of fully automatic operation.
In a perfect world, any reporter worth their salt would read this as part of their research prior to writing on gun control issues.
